PROGRAMA DE MENTORIA DE LCAM

The LCAM mentoring program involves developing a childcare associate’s knowledge through learning with a tutor or mentor. This mentor accompanies the entire process to advise, teach, and assist the learner with the goal of developing their professional skills.
Program Mission
The mission of the LCAM Mentoring Program is to provide professional and technical support to members to foster excellence in child care.
PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITY
El Comité de Mentoría en coordinación con la administración de LCAM son responsables de la administración, operación, y supervisión del Programa de Mentoría de LCAM. El Comité de Mentoría puede evaluar y seleccionar a nuevas mentoras del programa. El Comité de Mentoría deberá dar un reporte de los casos en el programa cada mes al Consejo Directivo de LCAM.
PROPOSITO DEL PROGRAMA DE MENTORIA
The LCAM mentoring program aims to:
- To promote the professional development of LCAM member associates through the organized transfer of knowledge, experience, and best practices in the field of childcare.
- Provide ongoing support to partners with the goal of improving the quality of child care.
- Establish a professional relationship between mentor and mentee where the exchange of information can be open, secure, and confidential.
- Provide resources that help guide members to achieve their goals.
Program Goals
- To reach the largest number of LCAM members.
- That at least 10% of the number of LCAM members participate in the program within a 12-month period.

TOPICS TO BE COVERED IN THE MENTORING PROGRAM
1. Apertura de un nuevo programa de cuidado infantil en el hogar. 2. Aplicación y/o avance de nivel en el programa Maryland EXCELS. 3. Aplicación y/o renovación del Child Development Associate (CDA) 4. Aplicación para la acreditación de la NAFCC 5. Administración de negocio de programas de cuidado infantil 6. Inspecciones 7. Contratos, formularios y formas 8. Transición de Family Child Care a Large Family Child Care.
NORMAS DEL PROGRAMA DE MENTORIA

- Mentoring sessions will be conducted in the order in which registration forms are submitted.
- Commitment: To be present at all scheduled sessions or visits and carry out the mentor’s assignments according to the action plan.
- Respect: Cancel sessions with more than 48 hours’ notice. Conduct sessions and communication using friendly and professional language.
- Confidentiality: Everything discussed in mentoring sessions is strictly confidential. This applies to both the mentee and the mentor assigned to the case.
- Termination: If the mentee is inconsistent with the mentor’s assignments, misses more than two sessions without prior notice, or if the two fail to communicate in a respectful and professional manner, the mentoring committee has the right to cancel and close the case.
